Steven Stein is the Principal of the Firm. His practice focuses on Intellectual Property, including Patents, Trademarks and Copyrights. He is licensed to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office as a registered Patent Attorney.
In addition to Intellectual Property practice, Steven focuses on civil litigation and business representation as well as criminal defense. He is admitted to the Bar in New York and New Jersey as well as the United States Supreme Court and the United States District Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
Steven received his law degree magna cum laude from Yeshiva University's Cardozo School of Law, where he was a recipient of a Mack scholarship. He was named a Belkin scholar and was selected to the prestigious Order of the Coif for outstanding academic achievement, having graduated in the top 5% of his class.
Prior to entering law school, Steven was an academic research scientist, receiving his Ph.D. in Virology from the Department of Molecular Genetics and Cellular Biology at the University of Chicago, where he focused his research on neurotropic virus pathogenesis. After receiving his doctorate, Steven was appointed a postdoctoral fellow in Viral Pathology at the New Jersey Center for Advanced Biotechnology and Medicine with a coappointment at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ), where he focused his research on Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). He is an author of numerous scientific papers, abstracts and book chapters.
In addition to his legal practice, Steven is involved in developing cutting edge STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education programs and teaches innovation, invention and scientific research as well as the ethical and legal implications of emerging technologies.
